Short DescriptionServes as the Lead and primary contact for the Coder II and Coder IIIs.
Assists the Assistant Director with oversight of daily operations of the Coding Team with scheduling and monitoring of Work Queues.
Ensures that aging accounts are monitored, rectified and processed for billing; strive to have accounts coded within the 4-day bill hold. Assist with review of denials.
Demonstrates proficiency in coding high acuity inpatient accounts with ability to support coding of hospital-based outpatient accounts including Cardiac Cath/Electrophysiology and/or Interventional Radiology to support Revenue Cycle goals for timely billing.
Utilizes International Classification of Disease (ICD-10-CM and PCS), Healthcare Common Procedure Coding System (HCPCS) including Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) and other coding references to ensure accurate coding.
Experience Required6-10 years required
Education RequirementsHigh School Diploma or GED.
License/Certification RequirementsOne or more of the following: RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CIC, COC, CPC, CCA, CCC, CIRCC, CCVTC required.
