Accura Health Care has the opportunity to welcome an Accounts Receivable Specialist to our Resource Center finance and accounting department to support our communities!
This is an entry level role that will focus on payment postings and claim follow up.
Experience with in the healthcare industry, ideally in long-term care is a plus!
The role is located in West Des Moines, IA, at our Resource Center, with the opportunity for hybrid/remote work after training and competency check-offs have been successfully completed .This role is non-exempt, eligible for overtime, and the wage scale is $19.00 - $22.00 per hour, depending on experience.

JOB SUMMARY:
The Accounts Receivable Specialist performs a range of functions necessary to process billing and payment for multiple facilities accurately. This position requires coordination with facilities and other departments to ensure the proper flow and maintenance of all required information and procedures. This individual will play a key role in promoting the Accura mission and will be expected to provide exceptional customer service and demonstrate and uphold our values.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Manage accounts receivable billing and collection of payments for all designated payers and designated locations in order to meet and maintain goals.
- Monitors Medicaid, Medicaid Coinsurance, Medicare, Hospice, Veteran’s Administration, Long-Term Care Insurance, and other designated payer sources as assigned to ensure billing and claims are accurately and timely filed on behalf of their designated communities for both primary and secondary payers.
- Monitor A/R aging focusing on accounts requiring further attention by involving the A/R and Billing Supervisor.
- The individual in this role must be comfortable interacting with payers via telephone and understand the heavy focus on claims follow up.
- Comply with all related laws and regulations pertaining to the position.
QUALIFICATIONS
REQUIRED:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Knowledge of Medicaid, Medicare, and Insurance reimbursement systems, including billing forms and requirements for various third-party payers
- Knowledge of and skill in using computers and related software for word processing, and spreadsheets (such as Microsoft Suite products) and accounting software
QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED:While this is an entry-level position, the following qualifications are preferred:
- 2+ years of AR experience
- 2-year Business or Accounting degree
- Accounts Receivable long-term care billing experience
- Experience in Point Click Care
- Knowledge of regulations affecting Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) business offices
