PRN Inpatient Audit Expert

As an Inpatient Audit Expert, you will be pivotal in enhancing coding quality and compliance, providing invaluable insights into coding education and workflow operations. Your expertise will have a direct impact on customer satisfaction and will empower informed health decisions.

• Conduct comprehensive Inpatient Facility coding audits focusing on MS DRG and APR DRG accuracy across diverse scopes of work.
• Offer detailed explanations for coding modifications, complete with references and documentation locations.
• Stay updated on regulatory changes that influence coding practices.
• Efficiently manage multiple cases to ensure timely completion.
• Deliver coder education throughout the auditing process.
• Maintain professionalism, efficiency, and a positive attitude.
• Adhere to the American Health Information Management Association's code of ethics.
• Demonstrate a strong commitment to customer service and ongoing professional development.

• 5+ years of inpatient coding experience and/or auditing.
• Certification as CCS, RHIA, or RHIT preferred.
• Consistently maintain a DRG accuracy rate of 95% or higher.
• Familiarity with electronic medical records software, such as Epic or Cerner.

The base pay for this position ranges from $35 to $45 per hour, contingent on experience and location. To ensure a secure environment for all, our clients may require health screenings and vaccinations. All exemption requests will be handled on a case‑by‑case basis.
