- Review, analyze, and code diagnostic and procedural information for pediatric medical records
- Assign and sequence ICD-10-CM/CPT/HCPCS/ICD-10-PCS codes for documented diagnoses and operative procedures
- Ensure compliance with established coding guidelines and third-party reimbursement policies
- Perform comprehensive reviews of medical records to verify documentation consistency and adequacy
- Collaborate with team members to improve clinical and administrative processes
- High School Diploma or GED (Required)
- Minimum of 1 year of hospital-based coding experience required; pediatric experience preferred
- Proficiency in ICD-10-CM, CPT, ICD-10-PCS coding
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in coding and abstracting
- Ability to analyze provider documentation for appropriate coding levels
- Associate's Degree in a related field
- Previous experience in pediatric coding
- Familiarity with compliance regulations and accreditation guidelines
- Certification in coding (e.g., CPC, CCS)
- Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems
