What to Expect (Job Responsibilities)
  • Monitor and audit inpatient and outpatient accounts for quality assurance, including performance reviews and external audits
  • Assess educational needs of coding staff and develop relevant training programs and materials
  • Assist with coding edits, denials, and appeals as needed
  • Coordinate the presentation of professional seminars and maintain education records for all coding-related activities
  • Serve as a technical resource, ensuring information accuracy and compliance with professional coding standards
What is Required (Qualifications)
  • Minimum of 5 years of coding experience and 3 years of auditing experience
  • Proficiency in multiple EMRs, encoders, and the Microsoft Office suite
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and commitment to maintaining confidentiality
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English and understand medical/surgical terminology
  • Minimum educational requirement:
    Associate s Degree or equivalent experience
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)
  • Current professional certification (CPC, CPMA, CCS, etc.)
  • Experience with coding for various specialties, including Neurosurgery and Emergency Department
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to complete work in a timely manner
  • Above-average written and verbal communication skills
  • Willingness to travel to client sites 20-40% of the time
