• Verify accurate assignment of diagnoses and procedures within medical records to comply with regulations
• Act as the primary department expert on Diagnosis-Related Groups (DRGs) and monitor regulatory updates
• Conduct regular audits and reviews of medical records for coding accuracy
• Review claim denials and recommend corrective action plans to prevent future issues
• Develop and coordinate training programs on coding and documentation for staff and ancillary departments

• High School diploma or equivalent;
  Associate's degree preferred
• Minimum of two years of medical or hospital coding experience
• Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) credential required
• Prior experience with encoder and Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills

• Knowledge of denials management
• Experience in health data analytics related to reimbursement business and policy decisions
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
