OverviewThe Medical Assistant performs patient care and administrative/clerical tasks and procedures based on training, education, and competency evaluations, as delegated by and under the direction or supervision of the Physician, Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant (NP/PA), Registered Nurse (RN), or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). The role emphasizes patient safety, administrative efficiency, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
Responsibilities- Provide patient care tasks and procedures.
- Perform administrative duties as appropriate.
- Ensure a safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
- Assess situations, consider alternatives, develop realistic action plans, and evaluate outcomes.
- Follow departmental and system policies, procedures, and practices.
- Maintain productive and efficient daily operations.
- High School Diploma
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)
- Registered Medical Assistant (RMA)
- Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA)
- Certified EMT (EMT‑B, AEMT, or Paramedic)
- BLS within 90 days of hire date
- Less than a year of related clinical or administrative experience.
