Sentara is hiring a Full-time IV Pharmacy Technician for the Home Infusion Pharmacy in Charlottesville, VA.

First (Days), Monday-Friday.
Hours:
8 am–4:30 pm. Status:
Full Time (40 hrs/wk).

The IV Pharmacy Tech II performs the technician responsibilities of clinical home infusion pharmacy care delivery under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist or licensed independent practitioner.
Duties- Demonstrates advanced technical skills and ownership of the work area
- Demonstrates the ability to work independently defined areas of pharmacy practice competently
- Assumes local and/or system responsibility for assigned tasks related to advanced clinical job positions
- Participates in the training of new employees
- Fills and delivers medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist/licensed independent practitioner
- Ensures adequate supplies are available for continuous patient care
- Triages and escalates any questions or issues outside the pharmacy technician's scope of practice as needed
- Uses appropriate systems for processing patient information
- Ensures quality assurance is maintained according to departmental and legal requirements
- Operates pharmacy equipment appropriately
- Participates in clinical initiatives to continuously improve patient care
- Training in an advanced Clinical Pharmacy Technician job function
- In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned
- A pharmacy technician license is required in the state of practice
- HS Diploma or equivalent
- Virginia Pharmacy Tech License (Required)
- CPhT License (Received through the NHA or PTCB (Required))
- 2 Years Pharmacy Experience (Required)
- 1 Year IV or Sterile Compounding Experience (Preferred)
