Remote Medical Transport Coder

Location: Fully Remote

Department: Revenue Integrity

Job Type: Contract (potential for permanent hire)

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Transport Coder to join the Revenue Integrity team as they transition from Flight Vector to Epic. This role requires a skilled professional with 5+ years of transport coding experience
, who can accurately code CPT and ICD
10, support charge capture workflows, and participate in specialty meetings with the Revenue Integrity team. The ideal candidate is a self‑starter
, able to work independently with minimal monitoring while managing daily workloads efficiently.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the transport charge capture process through accurate and timely documentation, coding, and charge entry for transport services.
  • Oversee charge capture for all ground and air emergency medical transport services
    .
  • Collaborate with Patient Financial Services, Professional Revenue departments, corporate compliance, and the revenue cycle team to ensure transport billing aligns with all applicable guidelines.
  • Provide education and training to transport personnel regarding coding standards and documentation best practices.
  • Ensure transport data and records are properly disseminated to management, medical directors, administration, and state agencies.
  • Attend departmental meetings and serve on assigned committees as needed.
Required Qualifications
  • Associate's degree and 3‑5 years of experience in transport/EMS coding.
  • OR
  • High school diploma and 5‑7 years of direct transport coding experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Demonstrated mastery of transport-related billing, coding, and documentation regulations.
  • CPC or CAC certification required (CCS accepted).
  • Ability to code both CPT and ICD
    10
    accurately and independently.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Epic experience.
  • Accounts Receivable (AR) experience strongly preferred.

Work Environment & Schedule
  • Fully remote role.
  • Team of approximately 17.
  • Flexible schedule available.
  • Must attend morning huddles from 8:00‑8:30 AM CST, Monday‑Friday.
  • Standard full‑time schedule (8 hours/day, M‑F).
  • Most of the team works 8:00 AM‑4:30 PM CST.
Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 ‑ $40.00/hr eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
