Position: Patient Services Representative (Remote)

We are currently seeking a highly organized and customer service-oriented Patient Services Representative to join our team. As part of the care team, you will perform a variety of functions such as greeting patients, patient registration, insurance coverage and eligibility verification, scheduling, and telephone management.

Responsibilities – Essential Functions
  • Identifies accepted insurance plans and those requiring referrals.
  • Handles any system red flags as they are encountered.
  • Schedules new or follow-up appointments in a courteous and professional manner in accordance with performance standards.
  • Responds to requests from patients, family members, physicians and staff in a courteous and professional manner in accordance with performance standards.
  • Electronic Health Record Documentation
    • Accesses EHR to communicate to clinical staff members and/or physicians.
    • Manages EHR in-basket(s), work queues and schedule templates as assigned in accordance with performance standards.
  • All other duties as assigned including department-specific functions and responsibilities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned and participates in organization projects as assigned.
  • Adheres to safety, HIPAA and compliance policies.
Qualifications & Skills
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 1 year of customer service experience in a medical office, insurance, call center or client services environment.
  • Experience With Scheduling Appointments – Must be flexible and have the ability to multi task.
  • Proficient in computers using MS Office applications and with an EHR (preferably Epic).
  • Ability to collaborate across departments and build effective relationships with internal and external customers to achieve goals.
  • Possession of strong problem solving skills and sound judgment.
  • Possession of strong organizational skills.
  • Strong verbal/written communication and listening skills; including excellent interpersonal skills and telephone communication.
  • Ability to work independently on assigned tasks as well as to accept direction on given assignments.
  • Deals with confidential information and/or issues using discretion and judgment.
  • Hours:

    Monday - Friday
  • This is a remote position. WE ARE ONLY CONSIDERING APPLICANTS OUTSIDE OF SAN FRANCISCO. This position is ideal for applicants in East Bay, South Bay, North Bay.
