Voyage Healthcare is seeking a motivated and detail‑oriented Certified Medical Coding Specialist to join our team. This is a remote position; however, candidates must have the flexibility to work onsite at our Corporate Office in Brooklyn Park as needed.
- The hourly range for this position is $22.55 - $28.10. Pay is based on years of relevant experience.
- Select appropriate service and diagnosis codes to ensure accurate billing and reporting of services performed
- Collaborate with Voyage Healthcare providers to ensure proper coding and documentation of services rendered
- Performs internal auditing of coding and documentation according to department guidelines and when requested by provider, Coding Supervisor, and Revenue Cycle Manager
- Assists Insurance Specialists in answering patient questions via telephone call que regarding coding and reviewing coding and documentation as needed
- Maintains current knowledge regarding coding and diagnostic procedures
- Current certification from AHIMA or AAPC
- Completion of an accredited coding program or equivalent experience required
- Minimum of three years coding experience in primary care or GYN preferred
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-10, and CPT coding required
- Proficiency with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and Microsoft Office products preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and perform a variety of diverse coding tasks
