Monday, Wednesday, Thursday 08:00 – 5:00 PM, Tuesday 08:00-7:00 PM, Friday 08:00-12:00 PM;
With additional hours available for up to 28 hours a week.

WIC is the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children. WIC provides nutrition education, breastfeeding information and support, nutritious foods and referrals to health and other social services at no charge to Georgia families that qualify.

Dietitian/Nutritionist:Role
The Registered Dietitian (RD) provides nutrition services and counseling to WIC participants, with a focus on high-risk clients including prenatal and postpartum women, infants, and children up to age five. This position supports healthy outcomes through individualized nutrition assessment, education, and goal setting using Motivational Interviewing techniques.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct nutrition assessments and provide follow-up counseling for high-risk WIC participants.
- Use Motivational Interviewing to guide behavior change and support participants in setting realistic, achievable goals.
- Document all services in the GA-WIC MIS system using the SOAP format.
- Review Requests for Medical Formula (RMF) and ensure appropriate formula issuance; coordinate with healthcare providers when additional information or clarification is needed.
- Assign and issue WIC food benefits; provide referrals to community and health resources as appropriate.
- Conduct low-risk nutrition education sessions and assist with remote WIC services such as certifications and mid-certifications as needed.
- Promote and support breastfeeding through participant counseling, education, and positive communication.
- Optionally, contribute to district-wide nutrition education initiatives, including the development of quarterly staff training materials.
- Up to five (5) days of orientation and training required at the District Office in Gainesville, GA.

Dietitian/Nutritionist: Bachelor’s degree in dietetics, human nutrition, foods and nutrition, nutrition education, food systems management or a closely related field from an accredited college or university, verification statement of completion of a didactic program accredited by The Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics AND Three years of job-related experience providing nutrition care to groups and individuals; OR two years of experience at the lower-level Dietitian/Nutritionist 2 (HCP
021) or position equivalent
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience with the WIC Program
- Bilingual: fluent in writing and speaking Spanish
