Job Description

Adelphi is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist to provide full-time substitute coverage within a school facility in Oakland County, Michigan. The SLP will provide diagnostic, therapeutic, and consultative services to students with speech and language impairments, ensuring consistent care and compliance with professional and educational standards.

Requirements
  • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Valid Michigan License in Speech-Language Pathology.
  • ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) or Clinical Fellowship (CF) status.
  • Strong understanding of standardized and informal assessment strategies related to communication disorders.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct comprehensive speech and language evaluations.
  • Ability to plan and provide therapy services for students identified as speech and language impaired.
  • Provide consistent on-site support; in-person availability is mandatory (remote work not accepted).
  • Maintain residence within a 45-minute commute to ensure timely and reliable service delivery.
Responsibilities
  • Evaluate students’ speech and language functions to identify areas of need.
  • Complete comprehensive and appropriate evaluations in accordance with MARSE Standards, District Guidelines, and ASHA best practices.
  • Prepare detailed diagnostic summary reports that clearly summarize evaluation findings and recommendations.
  • Maintain regular communication with parents, teachers, and other relevant team members regarding student progress and needs.
  • Document student progress using specific short-term objectives and measurable long-term goals.
  • Complete Medicaid billing for services provided in an accurate, comprehensive, and timely manner.
  • Participate as a member of designated school-based teams to support pre-referral interventions.
  • Make referrals for additional evaluation or services when appropriate.
  • Provide direct speech and language services addressing expressive, receptive, and pragmatic language skills.
