Position Summary
The Program Manager, Quality Programs, leads cross-functional projects that advance the department’s quality initiatives and programs. This role ensures projects are scoped correctly, executed on time and within budget, and evaluated for outcomes and impact. The Project Manager serves as a central coordinator among clinical Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), accreditation/compliance, operations, marketing, analytics, external vendors, and partner organizations.
The ideal candidate is an organized, proactive facilitator who can translate strategy into actionable workplans, manage multiple concurrent projects, and maintain clear communication with stakeholders. Experience in healthcare quality and professional associations is strongly preferred.
Key Responsibilities Project Management & Delivery- Lead end-to-end project management for QI initiatives, including planning, execution, monitoring, and closeout.
- Develop project charters, scopes, timelines, budgets, and communication plans.
- Drive project milestones, manage dependencies, and keep deliverables aligned with strategic priorities.
- Facilitate project meetings, document decisions, and track action items to completion.
- Coordinate internal teams and external partners to ensure deliverables meet quality standards.
- Manage operational aspects of QI initiatives (e.g., clinical pathways, audits, performance improvement programs, learning collaboratives, accreditation support).
- Support measurement frameworks: define success metrics, data collection timelines, and reporting cycles.
- Work with clinical and analytics teams to ensure QI outcomes are evaluated and communicated.
- Maintain documentation needed for compliance, accreditation, and reporting.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned projects and provide consistent status updates.
- Build strong working relationships with clinical leaders, education and quality staff, and operational partners.
- Prepare executive-level summaries, dashboards, and briefing materials.
- Support partner and sponsor deliverables as needed, ensuring expectations are met.
- Apply project management best practices and contribute to improving department workflows.
- Maintain templates, SOPs, and shared project tools (e.g., Wrike).
- Identify risks early and propose mitigation strategies.
- Track resource utilization and recommend adjustments to ensure project success.
- Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, public health, education, business, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 3–5+ years of project management experience, preferably in healthcare, quality improvement, medical education, or professional associations.
- Demonstrated experience managing multiple projects simultaneously with competing deadlines.
- Strong organizational, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, including ability to present to senior leadership.
- Proficiency with project management software and Microsoft 365/Google Workspace.
- Project Management Professional (PMP), CAPM, Lean/Six Sigma, or equivalent credential.
- Familiarity with QI methodologies (PDSA cycles, root cause analysis, clinical pathway development).
- Experience working with clinicians/faculty and external vendors/partners.
- Data-literate: comfortable interpreting dashboards and outcome reports.
