This position collaborates across the organization to define strategy, develop strategic plans, and ensure seamless execution to deliver end to end clinical transformation that enables organizational success while improving member, patient, clinician and employee experience. Fosters cross-functional partnerships to drive high-impact initiatives through innovation, effective change management strategies and metrics for measurable results.

* from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. For all hires in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office a minimum of four days per week.
In alignment with Medical Affairs priorities, establishes solid partnerships with senior UHG, Optum and UHC executives to advance enterprise clinical priorities and address changing consumer needs, improve experience and increase user adoption
Drives implementation of two key bodies of work: the Enterprise Clinical Excellence program; and the Clinical Quality and Patient Safety (QPS) Measure Modernization effort:
Works with clinical, technology, and enablement teams to progress a clear strategic vision with a high level of operational effectiveness
Effectively develops program scope documents, project plans, tracks and monitors program performance and updates relevant stakeholders on status of initiatives
Evaluates and communicates the value of UHG’s clinical programs, partnering across the organization to reveal insights that drive program optimization, reduce overlap, and share best practices
Partners with applicable stakeholders to identify the operational and clinical impact of defined solutions, mitigate applicable risks and establish change management processes to drive effective launch and deployment of strategic initiatives
Provides guidance and leadership to teams
Develops, manages, and evolves enterprise-level organizational process & infrastructure to support the successful strategic enablement of Medical Affairs’ priorities
Supports department-level strategy and planning, goal development and annual planning processes
Determines performance objectives/metrics and defines tools to measure progress and ensure consistent achievement of business objectives
Drives action and holds others accountable as needed to achieve proposed KPIs
Rationalizes existing capabilities and identifies potential gaps, necessary changes, and alternative solutions
Develops and manages monthly/quarterly/annual/ad hoc executive reporting and business reviews with close attention to detail for accuracy and insight
Proactively identifies barriers to implementation and escalates when needed on a timely basis
Handles confidential information professionally and discreetly

Required Qualifications- 10 years of experience leading strategic, complex programs, and business-wide initiatives
- Proven deep working knowledge of how business, clinical and IT organizations interact and operate together in an Agile environment
- Demonstrated track-record of success with change management in a healthcare setting
- Proven ability to appropriately balance strategic thinking, tactical execution and operating discipline
- Skilled in measurement and quantitative impact evaluation
- Ability to be professional and comfortable interacting with executive level leaders
