Description
This position offers a hybrid work arrangement, combining remote work with scheduled onsite work at our DOH facility in Tumwater, approximately 1 day per month.
The OpportunityJoin our team as a journey level professional. The Credentialing Coordinator acts as the subject matter consultant and coordinator for highly specialized and multi‑faced licensing within the HSQA Credentialing Section, a public health program closely linked to the Department's mission. You will identify and resolve highly complex and unique problems related to licensing legislation and policy and recommend ways to improve the operating efficiency of credentialing processes within and between work groups, agencies, and partners.
Coach, mentor, train, and serve as a technical consultant on difficult questions and complex, non‑standard regulatory and licensing activities.
- Monitor and ensure the quantity, quality, and timeliness of credentialing work products and customer service.
- Establish performance standards, measure and report results, and use results to plan improvements.
- Define criteria for detecting and interpreting trends and patterns of irregularities in the credentialing process; analyze workload for compliance with agency timelines and process requirements.
- Coordinate processing interactions among HSQA work units and programs to keep workflow progressing toward completion.
- Participate in audits and quality reviews by internal and external quality assurance staff or regulators.
- Apply quality improvement tools to increase efficiency, accuracy, and overall quality.
- Gather data and reporting on credentialing productivity, producing status and information as requested by management.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure best practices and assist in developing processes and procedures to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of credentialing duties.
- Provide technical consultation and assistance to health service providers and staff on difficult questions and complex, non‑standard regulatory and licensing activities.
- Interpret, train and explain licensing laws; provide ongoing support for changes in credentialing functions as laws and rules change or new professions or facilities are added.
- Assist credentialing specialists with new applicant credentialing, delegated credentialing, and ongoing maintenance of credentials.
- Produce and analyze licensing reports.
- Instruct and ensure proper and accurate intake and contact data entry and assist with online and standard verifications.
- Act in the Approver role in the automated system, providing guidance, technical expertise, and detailed quality review of work products.
You’ll directly support health service providers with licensing and regulatory questions, contributing to safer health care services as part of a dedicated team that develops innovative solutions to support partners. You’ll also apply quality improvement tools that enhance the efficiency and accuracy of our processes and work products for customers.

Option 1- Three (3) or more years of experience in the following areas:
- Analyzing data and reports, and making recommendations based upon the analysis.
- Regulatory experience in a health services program.
- Working with a complex regulatory, permitting, or licensing database.
- Associate’s degree or higher education.
- One (1) or more years of experience analyzing data and reports and making recommendations based upon the analysis.
