Description

We're seeking our next Pharmacy Director to join the team at Olympic Heritage Behavioral Health (OHBH). In this role as a Director of Pharmacy you will lead all clinical pharmacy and drug distribution services for our growing behavioral health facility.

You will report to the Chief Medical Officer and oversee all pharmacy operations to ensure the highest medication management standards, regulatory compliance, and patient safety. You will also supervise and develop Clinical Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians while supporting our mission to expand high‑quality psychiatric care across Washington State.

Olympic Heritage Behavioral Health (OHBH) is a 136‑bed inpatient psychiatric center in Tukwila, Washington, serving individuals across 19 western Washington counties. As a state psychiatric facility and center of excellence, OHBH partners with healthcare providers, community organizations, and government systems to deliver comprehensive behavioral health services.

The pharmacy team supports approximately 250 clients, playing a vital role in medication management and advancing OHBH’s mission to transform lives through compassionate, collaborative care.

King County employees receive 5% premium pay in addition to the advertised salary and are eligible to receive a free ORCA card for transportation use.

Work Schedule:

This position offers flexible hybrid remote work (3 days/ week onsite and 2 days/week remote work).

Some Of What You’ll Do
  • Provide 24/7 executive oversight of all pharmacy operations and make facility‑wide pharmacy decisions to ensure safe, efficient medication management.
  • Ensure full compliance with Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) requirements, state and federal pharmacy laws, Residential treatment facility (RTF)/hospital regulations, and accreditation standards.
  • Lead clinical pharmacy services, including medication regimen reviews and expert consultation to medical and nursing staff.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor medication management policies, patient safety initiatives, and medication error prevention strategies.
  • Oversee medication budgeting, purchasing contracts, Medicare billing, and cost‑reduction initiatives.
  • Direct pharmacy staff recruitment, supervision, performance management, and professional development.
  • Manage incident reporting processes and collaborate with Nursing to analyze trends and strengthen client safety practices.
  • Oversee pharmacy automation systems, hazardous drug handling programs, and drug distribution technologies.
  • Drive long‑range strategic planning to enhance pharmacy services, medication use systems, regulatory readiness, and organizational growth.
What We’re Looking For
  • Graduation from an accredited college of pharmacy with a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.

    D.) degree
  • Six years of pharmacy experience
  • Professionals with a valid license to practice Pharmacy in the State of Washington or eligibility to obtain license within 90 days of hire
  • Knowledge of medications and current pharmacy standards of practice as well as operations and pharmacy technology to be used in updating pharmacy operations.
  • Ability to strategically plan, organize, and ensure the pharmacy department runs effectively and meets the goals/mission/vision outlined by both hospitals and the pharmacy department; manage working relations within the pharmacy and other departments.
  • Incumbent must possess knowledge of Washington State RCWs/WACs applicable to mental health facilities, Pharmacy Quality Assurance Commission standards and Federal regulations regarding the practice of pharmacy, knowledge of accreditation standards.
Preferred Qualification
  • Five years of pharmacy management experience
  • Completion of pharmacy residency
  • Board Certification in Psychiatric Pharmacy
