Under the direction and supervision of the Supervisor or Manager, the Caregiver I provides compassionate, hands‑on personal care services to patients receiving home-based and/or center-based services. This role is essential in supporting patient dignity, safety, comfort, and independence while delivering high‑quality care in accordance with individualized care plans. Caregiver I team members play a meaningful role in enhancing the daily lives of patients and supporting families through dependable, patient‑centered care.
Whatyou will be doing
- Provide personal care and escort assistance in accordance with the individual care plan, including grooming, dressing, peri‑care, bathing, toileting, housekeeping, meal preparation and feeding, and laundry.
- Observe, document, and report changes in patient condition to the care team in a timely and professional manner.
- Demonstrate safe care practices by utilizing proper body mechanics, adhering to universal precautions, and maintaining a safe environment.
- Interact respectfully and professionally with patients, families, and the care team, encouraging engagement in conversation and activities when appropriate.
- Complete routine and repetitive care tasks accurately and consistently.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience working with elderly or frail populations (no certification required)
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
- Flexibility to work in multiple care environments, including home and center-based settings
- Compassionate, dependable, and patient‑focused approach with a positive, can‑do attitude
- Strong interpersonal and basic communication skills
- Basic conversational English skills required; testing may be required
- Ability to document care activities in basic written English, including checklists and simple electronic or paper forms
- Bilingual skills may be required based on patient population needs; language proficiency testing may be required
- Ability to translate or interpret basic information for supervisors, patients, and other caregivers when required
- Must be at least 18 years of age if working in a licensed adult day program
- Experience mentoring or training peers
- Experience working in both home care and center-based care settings
$21.00 – $23.33/hour

- Ability to work independently while managing shifting priorities in a fast‑paced environment
- Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, reach, and use hands for fine motor tasks
- Occasionally required to climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Ability to push, pull, lift, grasp, and perform repetitive hand and wrist movements
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally, using appropriate lifting devices or requesting assistance as needed
- Visual acuity required, including close vision and ability to adjust focus
- May work in an ambulatory clinic environment shared with clinical staff such as RNs, LVNs, CNAs, MAs, and providers
- Designated workspace provided for documentation and administrative responsibilities
- Work area must be kept neat, orderly, and clutter‑free
- Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including gloves, masks, gowns, and eye protection as needed
- Fast‑paced, highly interactive, and occasionally highly distractible environment
