Laboratory Technician II

Position Purpose

To perform routine experiments and laboratory duties in support of research efforts by the Ghosh laboratory.

As a Laboratory Technician II, you will perform the following duties:

• Experiments – 60%:
  Perform routine tests required in support of laboratory work and experiments; follow established safety procedures.
• Records – 10%:
  Maintain laboratory records of procedures; assist in preparing laboratory reports; record experimental data using graphs, logs, charts, and statistical summaries; perform limited library research and reference work for background materials.
• Laboratory – 25%:
  Maintain stock of biomedical and other supplies; requisition laboratory stock items and equipment; perform general laboratory maintenance as required.
• Miscellaneous – 5%:
  Assist in surgical procedures; communicate respectfully with a diverse community; perform other duties as assigned; demonstrate professionalism and collegiality; perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Familiarity with laboratory practices, methods, procedures, and techniques, and with handling equipment and instruments.
• Ability to work independently with good judgment and organizational, time‑management, and communication skills.
• Willingness to work with or be exposed to hazardous materials such as radioactive materials, infectious materials, and/or hazardous chemicals.
• Knowledge of computers and software applications.

Preferred Qualifications

• Completed coursework in biology, genetics, biochemistry, cell biology, or related fields.
• General laboratory experience, including molecular cloning,
  
  C. elegans, and/or tissue culture.

Hanover, NH. Remote work eligibility:
Onsite only. 10‑hourly, non‑exempt, regular full‑time position. Scheduled 40 hours per week, 12 months per year. Driving a vehicle is not an essential function.
