We are hiring immediately for full‑time PATIENT TRANSPORTER positions at UAMS – 4301 W. Markham Street, Little Rock, AR 72205. Online applications only. Full‑time schedule, days and hours may vary. Fixed Pay Rate: $15.00 per hour.

Responsible for the safe, timely and accurate transport of patients, medical equipment, and patient‑related items to their destinations.

• Properly and safely transport patients, securing IVs, drainage tubes, etc.
• Use wheelchairs and approved rolling stock to carry out duties.
• Demonstrate competency in transporting all age groups.
• Ensure timely and accurate transport to destinations using proper equipment.
• Communicate effectively with nursing personnel, clinicians, technicians or reception and dispatch.
• Maintain patient comfort by offering blankets, checking modesty and engaging in appropriate conversation. Never transport patients in severe pain.
• Alert nursing staff immediately to any signs of patient distress or equipment malfunction.
• Maintain equipment and report needed repairs.
• Comply with regulatory agency standards, including federal, state and JCAHO.
• Adhere to facility confidentiality and patient rights policies as outlined in HIPAA policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
