Join us at CHIA and be a driving force in health policy impact! We are seeking a Research Analyst to contribute to our growing research projects within the dynamic Strategy and Research team.
The Research Analyst will work closely with the research team and other colleagues at CHIA, vendors, and stakeholders such as sister agencies, providers, payers etc. The Research Analyst will help lead and support analytic work and product development in addressing ongoing and emerging health care information and data gaps, particularly in areas such as health care workforce, health care utilization, and emerging issues.
As a Research Analyst, you will have the opportunity to:
Drive Data-Backed Insights: Seize the opportunity to work with an extensive range of data on health care utilization, access, and equity related issues. You will be at the forefront of producing and reviewing clear and comprehensive written analyses, graphics, tables, and presentations using CHIA’s rich data sources to unearth crucial insights that will inform and shape health care policies and initiatives.
Shape Data Management and Analysis: Take an active role in shaping data projects by implementing data management tasks for large datasets such as the All Payer Claims Database (APCD), hospital discharge data (Case Mix), and other data assets to facilitate and deliver insightful analyses that drive real change in Massachusetts health care, all while expanding your skills in a dynamic, mission‑driven environment.
Champion Data Integrity: Participate in quality assurance (QA) and documentation processes to ensure that reported data is reliable and accurate. Work both independently and collaboratively with team members in developing analytical plans and documentation appropriate for each project.
Become a Technical and Subject Matter Expert: Provide technical support to the research team in programming and data analytics using APCD, Case Mix, and other data assets. Use your critical thinking skills to conduct literature searches and synthesize findings on topics of interest.
BI, Tableau for data visualization preferred.
