Job Title: Chief Clinical Officer

Location: Office – Hybrid, North Liberty, Iowa or Altoona, Iowa

Exemption Status: Salary, Exempt

Schedule: 8 am – 5 pm, Monday to Friday plus limited administrative call

Compensation: $190,000 – $227,900 annually

Position

Summary

Responsible to oversee and guide the clinical work systems. This includes donor eligibility, authorization, organ and tissue recovery, organ utilization, and donor restoration. The incumbent provides ongoing leadership and guidance to the directors of these work systems while instilling a sense of efficient, cost‑effective delivery of mission‑based services. Additionally, the incumbent aligns daily activities with the strategic and operational goals of the organization consistent with industry standards and best practices.

Functions and Performance Responsibilities
  • Supervise the selection, training,development, and performance of assigned work system directors to retain a motivated professional workforce for IDN.
  • Establish and communicate job responsibilities, manage performance expectations and outcomes to maintain optimal operational performance.
  • Ensure compliance with AATB, FDA, CMS, HRSA, OPTN, OSHA, IDPH, federal and state employment and other regulations, and IDN policies through annual reviews, department audit compliance, and staying current on industry standards and regulations.
  • Respond to external policy compliance inquiries such as OPTN patient safety reports and CMS regulatory deficiencies.
  • Oversee the overall operational, budgetary, and financial responsibilities and activities of the worksystems.
  • Participate in organizational strategic planning and assist with development of work system specific action plans to meet organizational goals.
