Overview
Children's Mercy is seeking an experienced Acute Mental Health Provider to deliver crisis-focused care to children and adolescents ages 2-17. This role includes mental health assessments, safety and suicide risk evaluations, and brief therapeutic interventions. Providers support crisis stabilization, safety planning, and appropriate treatment referrals. Care is delivered in the Emergency Mental Health Crisis Center and CMH Emergency Departments. The provider works closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, trauma-informed, patient-centered care, with flexibility to support other Child and Family Mental Health areas as needed.

Responsibilities
- Child and Family Therapy Service Provision and Documentation: provide evidence-based mental health treatments to patients and families within the assigned clinical area.
- Case Management and
Collaboration:
maintain ongoing communication with internal and external stakeholders to ensure strong partnerships, including referral sources, service providers, community mental health providers and care team members; assist families with accessing community services and transitioning to other treatment providers when needed. - Professional Development: demonstrate active involvement and leadership within the team, department, and hospital by attending meetings and educational opportunities, serving as a consultant, participating on committees, and responding to requests for educational programs.
Qualifications
Applicants must have MO licensing upon hire. KS licensing is required within 90 days of hire.
- Master's Degree and 1-2 years experience
- LMSW MO Licensed Master’s Social Worker; MO license (LMSW/LCSW) or (LPC) upon hire;
Kansas license within 90 days - LCSW MO Licensed Clinical Social Worker; MO license (LMSW/LCSW) or (LCPC) upon hire;
Kansas license within 90 days - LSCSW MO Licensed Clinical Social Worker Specialist; MO license (LMSW/LSCSW) or (LCPC) upon hire;
Kansas license within 90 days - LCPC MO Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor; MO license (LMSW/LSCSW) or (LCPC) upon hire;
Kansas license within 90 days - LPC MO Licensed Professional Counselor; MO license (LMSW/LCSW) or (LPC) upon hire;
Kansas license within 90 days

Starting Pay
The pay range for this job begins at $31.15/hr, but your offer will be determined based on your education and experience.
Remote Work/Work from Home
This position is not eligible to work remotely and requires onsite work at one of our Children's Mercy locations.
