University of Wisconsin Hospitals and Clinics Authority Manager Ambulatory Access Operations (Finance) Work Schedule

This is a full-time position scheduled to work Monday through Friday, with core hours between the hours of 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM. You will work at 8007 Excelsior Drive, Madison, WI, work from home occasionally and travel to various UW Health clinics.

Lead and enhance multi-specialty ambulatory access operations at UW Health. As Manager, Ambulatory Access Operations, you will oversee centralized scheduling, referral management, and clinic-facing workflows while guiding high-performing teams and strengthening partnerships across the system. This role plays an important part in advancing patient access, optimizing workflows, and ensuring patients receive timely, coordinated care.

We are seeking a Manager Ambulatory Access Operations to

  • Provide leadership for centralized scheduling, referral processing, and front-end access workflows across multiple specialties.
  • Support ongoing process improvements, workflow standardization, and thoughtful use of technology (Epic tools, automation, analytics).
  • Partner with clinic leaders, analysts, and operational stakeholders to monitor and improve key access measures such as service levels and scheduling timeliness.
  • Coach and support supervisors and frontline teams, fostering engagement, accountability, and professional growth.
  • Contribute to system-level initiatives designed to enhance patient access, operational effectiveness, and care coordination.
  • Build strong working relationships with providers, clinic partners, and cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and shared success.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in business, healthcare administration or related field. Required
  • Master's Degree in business, healthcare or related field. Preferred
Work Experience
  • 5 years of experience in a health care setting with a minimum of one (1) year of related experience in a leadership role. Required
  • Supervisory experience in Access Services, Registration, Patient Accounting, or Clinic Operations. Preferred
  • At least three (3) years of related experience in a leadership role. Preferred
Licenses & Certifications
  • Certification in Epic Prelude and/or Cadence Preferred
  • Project management certification (PMP, PRINCE 2, Agile, other) Preferred
  • Lean Six Sigma Certification Preferred
