- Review and interpret facility inpatient and outpatient medical documentation
- Abstract clinical information from medical records for statistical documentation
- Research and stay current with trends in healthcare coding and compliance
- Collaborate with physicians, coding staff, and other hospital personnel to ensure accurate code assignment
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in facility coding covering multiple services
- At least one active certification (RHIA/RHIT/CCS/CCS-P/CPC/CPC-H/COC/CIC)
- Experience working in ED, OPS, or IP coding areas
- Proficiency with Microsoft applications and electronic health records software
- Additional certifications in coding specialties
- Experience with a variety of coding systems and software
- Familiarity with healthcare compliance regulations
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
