Position: Facility Medical Coder II - (Remote Position, Must reside in South Carolina) $5,000 Sign-on Bonus

What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
  • Assign appropriate ICD and CPT codes for reimbursement and statistical purposes
  • Review and interpret facility inpatient and outpatient medical documentation
  • Abstract clinical information from medical records for statistical documentation
  • Research and stay current with trends in healthcare coding and compliance
  • Collaborate with physicians, coding staff, and other hospital personnel to ensure accurate code assignment
What is Required (Qualifications):
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in facility coding covering multiple services
  • At least one active certification (RHIA/RHIT/CCS/CCS-P/CPC/CPC-H/COC/CIC)
  • Experience working in ED, OPS, or IP coding areas
  • Proficiency with Microsoft applications and electronic health records software
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
  • Additional certifications in coding specialties
  • Experience with a variety of coding systems and software
  • Familiarity with healthcare compliance regulations
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
