Remote Inpatient CDI Specialist

CSI Companies is hiring a Remote Inpatient CDI Specialist for our healthcare client, a top not-for-profit organization based in Alabama. Hours: 20+ week- possibility to become FT, flexible hours after initial onboarding but will need to be available to work hours between 7a-5p EST to start?

Pay: $40-60/hour
Position Type: Long-term consultant Job Summary:
We are seeking? dedicated Inpatient Clinical Documentation Integrity (CDI) Specialists to join our team. The ideal candidates will have the ability to work independently and as part of a team to improve the client's CDI program operational efficiency and impact.? Job Responsibilities:

• Conduct concurrent reviews for query opportunity.
• Must be experienced in accurate PDx. assignment, cause and effect, MCC, CC, HCC, PSI, HAC and Validation query opportunities.
• Conduct audits for missed query opportunities, educational opportunities, and general quality.
• Collaborate with the team to improve documentation practices and education regarding HCCs and validation in particular.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of coding guidelines and CDI practices.
• Participate in team meetings and contribute to departmental goals.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of recent inpatient CDI experience
• Active RN license with 5+ years of hospital experience, preferably some ED or ICU experience
• Active CCDS is required
• Knowledge of HCC capture
• Prior second level review and/or auditing experience
• Experience with Paragon EHR and/or CDI Collaborate is a plus

• Ability to meet quality standards of 95% or higher.
• Ability to review and document on 2-3 charts per hour working in multiple systems without CAC.
• Expected query rate of 25-35%.
• Strong understanding of clinical conditions, coding guidelines, and 3M stand-alone coding.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team. ?
