Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provides advanced clinical inquiry responses (verbal & written) to health‑related inquiries from consumers, educators, medical/health professionals, state and local health departments, and other government offices.
- Provides medical subject‑matter expertise on CDC‑INFO topics (HIV/AIDS, immunizations, environmental health, NIOSH, TB, statistics, etc.).
- Responds to inquiries arising from current events such as foodborne outbreaks, natural disasters, and other public health incidents.
- Performs advanced database searches and composes documents, reports, and correspondence.
- Documents all incoming inquiries and performs assigned work in accordance with quality‑assurance measures.
- Participates in special projects as required.
- High School diploma or equivalent with 2–4 years of experience; additional training or education in the area of specialization is preferred.
- Fluency in English and a specified secondary language (e.g., Spanish).
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing and a current RN license.
- Experience in medical, scientific, and public‑health disciplines.
- Clinical knowledge of and experience with CDC‑related topics.
- Proficiency in internet search skills, Microsoft Office, and learning new software applications.
- Excellent listening, comprehension, verbal and written communication, problem‑solving, and customer‑service skills.
- Ability to work independently, organize simultaneous tasks, and communicate effectively.
- Demonstrated interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Commitment to a two‑week training schedule (8:00 am – 4:30 pm EST, Monday – Friday) and flexibility to work additional hours (e.g., 11:30 am – 8:00 pm EST, weekend or holidays as needed).
- Personal computer or laptop (Chromebooks, tablets, and notebooks are not allowed) with Windows 10/11 or macOS Big Sur (11.0.1+), Catalina (10.15), or Monterey (12.3).
- Internet speed of at least 25 mbps (or 50 mbps for shared connectivity) and minimum 5 mbps upload speed.
- Internet connectivity via Category 5 or 6 ethernet patch cable connected to the home router.
- Private, secure work area with adequate power source.
- U.S. residency required.
