Sentara Albemarle Medical Center is hiring a Registered Respiratory Therapist for a full‑time 14‑week assignment.

• Day shift, 7am‑7pm
• 14‑week assignment

The Registered Respiratory Therapist builds upon overall pulmonary management by identifying and implementing physician‑directed respiratory care interventions for individual or group patients. The role cooperates with nursing and other health care team members to provide professional respiratory care for patients ranging from neonates to adults in all clinical and ambulatory settings. Responsibilities include age‑specific assessment and treatment of patients and, when applicable, oversight or access to Protected Health Information (PHI).

• Associate’s Degree in Respiratory Therapy or Bachelor’s Degree in Respiratory Therapy.
• State license, active NBRC RRT, and BLS required at the time of hire. New graduates must hold a state license and BLS at the time of hire and obtain NBRC RRT within six months.
• Minimum one year of clinical respiratory care experience (preferred).

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) – National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC)
• Respiratory Therapist License – State license (North Carolina Respiratory Care Board)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart Association (AHA)

Sentara Albemarle Medical Center, located in Elizabeth City, NC, serves northeastern North Carolina with a caring team of approximately 650 employees and 150 medical providers. The 182‑bed facility offers 25 specialties, including emergency, maternity, orthopedics, medical, and surgical care, as well as outpatient laboratory, imaging, and comprehensive breast services. In 2022, Sentara broke ground on a new 88‑bed campus to replace the existing 60‑year‑old facility.
