- Collaborate with physicians and medical staff to identify principal and secondary diagnoses and procedures
- Conduct ongoing concurrent and retrospective reviews for system-wide admissions for all payors
- Initiate queries or communication with providers to ensure accurate documentation of patient severity and risk
- Provide education and resources to providers on documentation opportunities
- Serve as a mentor to co-workers and a liaison for departmental meetings
- Current Oregon RN License
- CCDS (Certified Clinical Documentation Specialist) or CDIP (Certified Documentation Improvement Practitioner)
- Minimum of five (5) years of recent CDIS experience
- Ability to maintain focus while reviewing medical records for the majority of the workday
- Excellent communication skills and ability to interact with a diverse population
- Proficient use of EPIC and 3M 360 Encompass software programs
- BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing)
