• Follow up on denied claims and overdue insurance balances in a timely manner
• Submit appeals for contract rate variances and notify the Supervisor of recurring issues
• Respond to inquiries from insurance companies via written and telephone communication
• Maintain relationships with personnel from assigned insurance carriers
• Attend meetings and training sessions as requested to remain compliant with industry standards

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Minimum of eighteen months of previous medical billing and collections experience preferred
• Knowledge of practice management software and Microsoft Office
• Understanding of Explanation of Benefits forms and the insurance billing process
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• College education or trade school experience
• Working knowledge of managed care, commercial insurance, Medicare, and Medicaid reimbursement
• Basic knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 coding
• Comfortable using email and interacting with internet applications
