Greater Minnesota Family Services is pleased to offer internships for students enrolled in master’s degree programs in the fields of social work and psychology. We have a strong mission to support students that have a desire to work in this field. We are committed to work with students and their academic institutions in fulfilling their internship training requirements. We have licensed therapists available to provide supervision for our interns.

GMFS offers many different training and mentoring opportunities in community or home based settings:

• Home-based, Individual &Family Counseling
• School-Linked Mental Health Services

• Early Childhood Home-based and Day Treatment Services
• Residential Services

Internships are generally unpaid, although some interns can be paid an hourly stipend if they meet the qualifications requirements and can provide services billable through CTSS to children and their families.

Internship positions are reviewed and accepted on a case by case basis as there are many variables to be considered. GMFS reserves the right to accept and deny all internships. Internships are offered to Minnesota residents or those planning to reside in Minnesota during their internship should apply.
