What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
  • Assist in developing and implementing policy strategies to support the employer and the laboratory industry
  • Act as a liaison between employer Medical Directors and Payer Medical Directors on reimbursement-related issues
  • Monitor payer policy updates and changes impacting revenue
  • Advocate for company positions at meetings with trade associations and other stakeholders
  • Analyze healthcare trends and assess implications for Medicare, Medicaid, and Commercial payers
What is Required (Qualifications):
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution and a minimum of 5 years of work experience (or 7 years of experience without a degree)
  • Strong background in diagnostics billing systems and payer policy
  • Experience with insurance guidelines and payer policy
  • Previous work experience in healthcare revenue cycle management
  • Ability to collaborate with third-party groups affected by Medicare, Medicaid, and CLIA regulations
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
  • Advanced degree (MBA, JD, M.A./M.S., CGC, RN)
  • Prior experience in genetic counseling
  • Experience in a clinical or business setting related to diagnostics
  • Familiarity with payer-directed CPT coding in diagnostics
  • Previous work with state and federal agencies and commercial insurance payers
