The Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP) ((Use the "Apply for this Job" box below).) is seeking a full-time accreditation reviewer at the entry-level Accreditation Analyst level. The Accreditation Analyst is responsible for: facilitating the accreditation reviews for assigned programs, to include direct review work; ensuring compliance with accreditation standards, policies, and procedures; providing expert guidance and support to various constituent groups, including but not limited to faculty, administrators, students, and members of the public;
and supporting the work of the accreditation unit and organization. This role involves facilitating the accreditation process for assigned applicant and accredited counseling programs and helping improve accreditation processes.
The essential functions of the Accreditation Analyst are:
- Conduct Accreditation Reviews: conduct and coordinate reviews across reviewers, support review work by external reviewers and by the CACREP Board, and maintain accurate records
- Provide Expert Guidance and Support: clearly convey accurate information in response to internal and external inquiries, provide guidance and support to accredited programs and programs interested in seeking accreditation, and respond verbally and/or in writing to inquiries from external constituent groups, including faculty and administrators, students, and members of the public
- Enhance Accreditation Process and Communication Effectiveness: identify and communicate challenges with and recommendations related to accreditation processes, and engage in organizational initiatives to improve accreditation processes, procedures, and record-keeping practices
This is a full-time, entry-level, in-office position in the CACREP offices in Alexandra, Virginia. The Accreditation Analyst will be eligible for a 1-day per week telework option after completion of an introductory period. A remote position may be considered for the right candidate.
Qualifications- Education:
A master’s degree in counseling is preferred. A master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Education, Higher Education Administration, Healthcare, Business Administration) will be considered. - Experience:
This is an entry-level accreditation reviewer position. - Skills:
Strong analytical and organizational skills. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Highly organized and able to manage multiple projects and deadlines. Ability to work independently and as a member of a team. Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365. Familiarity with accreditation management systems is desired. Tolerance for ambiguity. - Knowledge:
Knowledge of CACREP and/or programmatic accreditation desired. Familiarity with the profession of counseling and/or counselor education practices is desired. - Location:
Preference is given to individuals who live within a commuting distance to Alexandria, VA, or plan to live in this area.

PayThe starting salary for an in‑office Accreditation Analyst is $60,000. For remote positions, the salary will be adjusted based on cost‑of‑living differences.
