Registered Clinical Dietitian Part time

Position

We are seeking a Registered Clinical Dietitian to join our team at San Joaquin Valley Rehabilitation Hospital, located in Fresno, CA. The hospital is a 62‑bed acute rehab facility providing rehabilitative services to patients recovering from disabilities caused by injuries or illnesses.

Responsible for the quality of nutritional care provided to both hospitalized and ambulatory patients. Performs nutritional assessments/evaluations and makes dietary recommendations. Provides patient counseling and education. Develops nutritional care plans, monitors, and implements changes as appropriate. Implements nutrition therapy orders and verifies implementation. Monitors and evaluates patients’ adherence to, acceptance of, and tolerance for prescribed nutrition therapy. Re‑evaluates and updates nutrition care on a regular basis.

Accountable for the planning and directing of the nutrition office.

• Bachelor’s Degree required.
• Current, valid, and active license and/or certification to practice as a Registered Dietitian in the state of employment required.
• Registration with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics required.
• Minimum two (2) years of clinical experience in a hospital setting required.

• Current BLS certification from a Vibra‑approved vendor preferred.
• Knowledge in modern principles and practices of dietetics preferred.
• Knowledge in safety and sanitation standards applicable to hospital food service preferred.
• Ability to project a professional image.
• Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements.
• Strong organizational, prioritizing, and analytical skills.
• Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant.
• Working knowledge of computer and software applications used in job functions.
• Freedom from illegal use of and effects of drugs and alcohol in the workplace.
