- Salary: $51,802 to $82,680 Per Year
The Speech‑Language Pathologist (SLP) provides comprehensive services to learners aged birth to 21 with communication needs impacting their education and social interactions. The SLP partners with educators, families, and communities, delivering direct services, consultation, coaching, and training.
Responsibilities include:
- Completing Child Find tasks to determine eligibility for Special Education.
- Assessing learner communication skills.
- Developing and implementing evidence‑based intervention plans addressing language, articulation, fluency, and voice disorders.
- Ensuring compliance with state and federal guidelines.
- Fostering positive learning environments and promoting learner success within the educational setting.
- Education: Master’s degree in Speech‑Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Licensing Requirements: Meet all state requirements, endorsements, approval, and licensure requirements established by the Iowa Department of Education/Iowa Board of Educational Examiners.
- Must hold an Iowa Bureau of Educational Examiners (BoEE) B‑21 Speech‑Language Pathologist License (Statement of Professional Recognition (SPR) – 237) or Professional Service License – 237.
- Must maintain a current Iowa Department of Public Health (IDPH) license as an agency requirement (required if you hold an SPR; if you hold a Professional Service License, the BoEE does not require an IDPH license, however, Central Rivers AEA requires all SLPs to maintain a current IDPH license).
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (ASHA CCCs) encouraged (but not required).
- Full‑time 8 hrs/190 days.
