Position

Pharmacy Tech / IV Certified

Position Summary

Pharmacy Technicians, under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist, assist in the various activities of the pharmacy department. Pharmacy Technicians help pharmacists prepare and distribute medications, maintain drug inventory and records, and function in accordance with standard written procedures, guidelines and state and federal regulations. They do not perform duties that can legally be performed only by a registered pharmacist.

Job Duties / Responsibilities

Participates with pharmacists, nursing, and medical staff to provide safe, accurate and timely medication administration.

Qualifications
  • Registration with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy prior to start of employment
  • 1‑2 years of hospital pharmacy experience preferred
  • High level of organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • High school graduate or equivalency
