Position: Teletherapist, Licensed (Randolph) *Remote*

Clinical Responsibilities

  • Complete initial diagnostic assessments on all patients assigned to determine treatment needs, utilizing the assessment data to support a DSM‑V preliminary diagnosis.
  • Refer patients or family members to community resources or specialists when a need is identified in the assessment process.
  • Educate patients about crisis planning, and how to access crisis services, including the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline.
  • Maintain effective and timely documentation.
  • Formulate appropriate treatment plans along with consumers and families, as appropriate.
  • Provide individual, group, and family therapy, utilizing basic therapeutic models and theories according to consumer needs as stated in the treatment plan.
  • Demonstrate the ability to recognize the elements of a crisis state and know how to deescalate or resolve the situation.
  • Effectively collaborate with the treatment team members and outside sources in the delivery of clinical services.
  • Provide support and education for consumers and family members.
  • Evaluate the consumer for discharge planning.
  • Facilitate services that prevent commitment.
  • Adhere to professional code of ethics.
  • Effectively demonstrate the application of adult and child/adolescent specific competencies.
  • Assist with seclusion and restraint per AltaPointe policy and procedures.
Supervision and Consultation
  • Seek clinical supervision and consultation as needed.
  • Accept and employ suggestions for improvement.
  • Actively work to enhance skills.
Clinical Record Keeping
  • Document in a timely fashion per AltaPointe policy.
  • Document appropriate, complete, and clinically comprehensive mental health assessments.
  • Document measurable and specific goals in the treatment plan.
  • Document legibly and include credentials with signatures.
  • Document in a clear and concise manner, types of consumer problems, treatment goals addressed, services and techniques used.
  • Document case disposition, case closings, follow‑up and referrals.
Case Load Management
  • Effectively manage caseload based on consumer needs.
  • Meet AltaPointe productivity standards.
Professional Conduct
  • Courteous and respectful toward consumers, visitors, and co‑workers.
  • Treat others with care, dignity and compassion.
  • Respect others’ privacy and confidentiality.
  • Assist others as needed.

Administrative Duties

  • Access appropriate community resources according to consumer needs.
  • Complete assigned tasks in a timely manner.
  • Maintain licensing renewal requirements, if applicable, and attend required in‑services and workshops.
  • Utilize the time‑keeping system, document time worked and paid time off, and sign off on timecards according to AltaPointe’s policies.
Licensure Requirements

Licensure required: LPC, LMFT or LCSW.

Qualifications and Experience

Master’s degree in a mental health discipline; age 23 or older; valid driver’s license; successful completion of a practicum as part of the degree requirements or six (6) months of post‑master’s level clinical experience supervised by a master’s level clinician with two years of postgraduate clinical experience.

Knowledge Requirements (to be attained within six months of employment)
  • Knowledge of psychiatric disorders in adult and child/adolescent populations.
  • Understanding of growth and development of consumers related to intellectual, emotional, spiritual and physical aspects.
  • Knowledge of behavior management, crisis intervention and interventions common to acute psychotic consumers, as well as non‑violent crisis intervention practice.
  • Basic knowledge of senior adult issues.
  • Knowledge of cultural diversity.
  • Knowledge of psychiatric rehabilitation principles.
  • Knowledge of family dynamics and parenting issues.
  • Understanding of effects and treatment of physical, sexual and emotional abuse and neglect.
  • Awareness of available community resources for adult and child/adolescent populations.
  • Knowledge of educational methods appropriate to adults and child/adolescent psychiatric disorders.
  • Ability to maintain accurate and timely records for each patient.
