Medicare Biller
Billing responsibilities:
Ensure accurate and timely billing by verifying insurance coverage, adhering to Medicare regulations, and proactively addressing claim errors. These efforts minimize claim denials, optimize reimbursement for the hospital, and help reduce patient out-of-pocket expenses.
Submit clean claims accurately, using the appropriate billing forms and electronic submissions, ensuring all necessary information is included.
Reviews and follows up in a timely manner all balances on accounts.
Works with patients and insurance companies, when necessary, to obtain correct insurance information to process claims.
Resubmitting or correcting claims in DDE that have returned and rejected. Also, filing late or corrected claims for Medicare Advantage.
Meditech knowledge a plus.
Education:
High school diploma or GED
A minimum of five years' experience billing Medicare and Medicare Advantage.
A working knowledge of Medicare and the complex regulations concerning Medicare reimbursement is essential.
Strong customer service, good verbal and written communication skills and an excellent eye for detail are important.
This is a remote position that must live within one hour of Bacon County Hospital in Alma, Ga.
