Job Summary

The Pediatric Occupational Therapist will provide high-quality therapy services and evaluations to children supported by Abilis. The ideal candidate will have expertise in working with children who have sensory integration/processing needs, fine and gross motor delays, and neurological disorders.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations to assess pediatric clients’ sensory, motor, and neurological needs.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on evaluation results and family goals.
  • Provide direct occupational therapy services addressing fine motor, gross motor, sensory processing, and neurological challenges.
  • Deliver therapy in home-based settings to enhance daily living, play, and school participation.
  • Use evidence-based interventions to promote independence and functional skills.
  • Collaborate with families, caregivers, and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care.
  • Train and support families and caregivers in strategies to reinforce therapy goals at home and in the community.
  • Document therapy sessions, progress notes, and outcomes according to agency and regulatory standards.
  • Monitor client progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
  • Participate in team meetings, program planning, community advocacy, and professional development.
Qualifications
  • Must be a licensed Pediatric Occupational Therapist in the state of Connecticut.
  • Strong understanding of sensory integration/processing, fine and gross motor delays, and neurological disorders.
  • Preferred experience with pediatric feeding disorders and home-based therapy settings.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with families and multidisciplinary teams.
