Responsibilities
I. JOB SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Under the general direction of the Business Services Manager, responsible for submitting bills, collecting monies due for services rendered. Responsible for maintaining accurate accounts receivable records.
II. TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
• Finger dexterity, seeing, hearing, speaking.
• Constant: sitting, reaching above, at and below shoulders; repetitive arm/hand motion and frequent gripping of objects.
• Frequent: stooping/bending, and twisting body.
• Occasional: standing, walking.
• Infrequent: lifting/carrying up to 35 pounds, pushing/pulling up to 3.5 pounds of force.
III. TYPICAL
WORKING CONDITIONS:
• Not substantially subjected to adverse environmental conditions.
IV.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A. EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE:
• High school diploma or equivalent.
B.
EXPERIENCE:
• Minimum one (1) year of billing and collection work experience or be a graduate of a business program or college.
• Experience in a healthcare environment.
• Ability to produce spreadsheets and correspondence using Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Ability to operate office equipment including computer, calculator, copier, fax and shredder.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.
• Familiarity with Allscripts computer software.
• Familiarity with medical terminology.
