* Job Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Certified Peer Support Service Worker (PSS) and/or Youth Support Service Worker (YSS) to join our team in Idaho. In this role, you will provide invaluable support and mentorship to both adults and youth who may be experiencing mental health challenges, addiction recovery, and co-occurring disorders. As a Certified Peer Support Service Worker and/or Youth Support Service Worker, you will have the opportunity to build and manage your own case load, making a significant impact on the lives of the individuals you serve.
Responsibilities:
- Build and manage a case load of adult and/or youth clients, providing ongoing support, advocacy, and mentorship.
- Collaborate with other professionals, including therapists, social workers, and medical personnel, to ensure comprehensive care for the individuals you support.
- Conduct regular assessments and develop individualized support plans based on the unique needs and goals of each client.
- Provide emotional support, guidance, and encouragement to help individuals develop coping skills and resilience during addiction recovery and co-occurring disorders.
- Facilitate peer support groups and other group activities to foster a sense of community and connection.
- Advocate for the rights and needs of individuals, assisting them in navigating systems such as mental health services, substance abuse treatment programs, housing, and employment.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of client progress, ensuring compliance with confidentiality and reporting requirements.
- Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge in peer support services.
- Certified Peer Support Specialist (PSS) and/or Certified Youth Support Specialist (YSS) in the state of Idaho.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or relevant certifications in psychology, social work, addiction counseling, or related fields are preferred.
- Previous experience working with adults and/or youth in a supportive or mentorship capacity, particularly in addiction recovery and co-occurring disorders.
- Strong understanding of the unique challenges faced by individuals dealing with mental health issues, substance abuse, and co-occurring disorders.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to actively listen, empathize, and build rapport with clients.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage a case load, and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Proficient computer skills for documentation and data entry.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Remote Work out of the office but in person work in the community
