Are you an experienced medical coder with a passion for precision and detail? Do you thrive in a remote work environment where your skills in coding can make a significant impact? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our healthcare partner as a Specialty Coder focusing on Ortho/Podiatry. This role is perfect for those who are dedicated to maintaining high-quality ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, and CPT coding standards.
As a Specialty Coder, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and quality of coding for both inpatient and outpatient diagnoses and procedures. Your expertise will help maintain a consistent coding accuracy rate of 95% or better, contributing to the overall success of the healthcare organization. You will work collaboratively with various departments to ensure complete and accurate physician documentation, supporting billing accuracy and reducing denials.
- Maintain current and high-quality ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, and/or CPT coding for diagnoses and procedural occurrences
- Accurately abstract data into electronic medical record systems
- Verify accurate patient dispositions and physician data
- Collaborate with HIM and Clinical Documentation Specialists
- Assist in other departmental areas as requested by leadership
- Must have at least 2 years of experience in medical coding
- Must reside in Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, Georgia, or New Mexico
- Must be available full-time
- COVID-19 vaccine (medical and religious exemptions may apply)
- Must have two monitors and a laptop for remote work
