Job Summary:The Pediatric Occupational Therapistwill provide high-quality therapy services and evaluations to children supported by Abilis. The ideal candidate will haveexpertisein working with children who have sensory integration/processing needs, fine and gross motor delays, and neurological disorders.
Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive evaluations to assess pediatric clients’ sensory, motor, and neurological needs.
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based onevaluationresults and family goals.
Provide direct occupational therapy services addressing fine motor, gross motor, sensory processing, and neurological challenges.
Deliver therapy in home-based settings to enhance daily living, play, and school participation.
Use evidence-based interventions to promote independence and functional skills.
Collaborate with families, caregivers, and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care.
Train and support families and caregivers in strategies to reinforce therapy goals at home and in the community.
Document therapy sessions, progress notes, and outcomes according to agency and regulatory standards.
Monitor client progress and adjust treatmentplansas necessary.
Participate in team meetings, program planning, community advocacy, and professional development.
QualificationsMust be a licensed Pediatric Occupational Therapist in the state of Connecticut.
Strong understanding of sensory integration/processing, fine and gross motor delays, and neurological disorders.
Preferred experience with pediatric feeding disorders and home-based therapy settings.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with families and multidisciplinary teams.
