Salary Scale: $93,960 to $120,000 (dependent on qualifications)
This position provides clinical and outreach services to a diverse population of university students and serves as the Coordinator of the Psychiatry Residency Rotation Staff Psychologist works under the general supervision of the Director of UCS and collaborates with faculty, staff, and students to develop and implement campus and community psycho‑educational programs and interventions that enhance student academic and personal success.
Key responsibilities include:
- Provide clinical assessment and short‑term individual and couples counseling.
- Deliver group psychotherapy and structured psycho‑educational groups.
- Offer triage/urgent care services and clinical case management.
- Implement general outreach programs and interventions to the campus community.
- Provide consultation to faculty, staff, and campus constituencies regarding students with mental health concerns.
- Coordinate orientation, training, and scheduling for the psychiatry residency rotation; maintain ongoing communication with residency program directors and supervisors.
- Serve as a member of the supervision team for residents; provide feedback on resident performance; assist with paperwork for institutional contracts and ACGME guidelines.
- Participate in the department’s APA‑accredited doctoral training program, including supervision and training.
- Attend UCS staff meetings, case conferences, professional development activities, and retreats.
- Maintain ethical and timely documentation of all clinical work in the electronic medical record system.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Clinical services may include telemental health services and/or remote work.
Required Qualifications- Doctoral degree in Clinical or Counseling Psychology from an APA‑accredited institution.
- Licensure in the State of California as a psychologist; if licensed in another state, must obtain California licensure within one year.
- Demonstrated generalist clinical therapeutic and diagnostic skills (assessment, brief focused counseling, group psychotherapy, crisis intervention, case management).
- Experience providing professional consultation and outreach programs on a variety of topics relevant to diverse college students.
- Experience serving as a clinical supervisor.
- Demonstrated commitment to multiculturalism and ability to establish respectful relationships with people from diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary mental health team and contribute to a collegial environment.
- Strong written and oral communication skills and effective time‑management.
- Successful completion of an APA‑accredited doctoral internship in health service psychology.
- Experience working in a university counseling center setting.
- Experience working with medical discipline personnel.
Position responsibilities may also require the candidate to be a mandated reporter under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and to comply with CSU Executive Order 1083.
