Job DescriptionAs a Remote Medical Coder, you will be responsible for reviewing and analyzing medical records to accurately assign appropriate diagnosis and procedure codes. You will work closely with our team of medical professionals to ensure that coding is compliant with all regulatory guidelines and accurately reflects the services provided.
- Reviewing and coding medical records for inpatient and outpatient services
- Accurately assigning ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes
- Collaborating with medical professionals to clarify documentation and ensure accurate coding
- Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of coding guidelines and regulations
- Identifying and reporting any coding discrepancies or issues
- Ensuring timely and accurate submission of coded claims
- Maintaining confidentiality and security of all patient information
- Participating in coding audits and providing feedback for improvement
- High school diploma or equivalent, with a certification in medical coding preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical coding, preferably in a remote setting
- Proficient in ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Proficient in using coding software and electronic health records systems
