Job DescriptionBreakthrough Public Schools (BPS) is seeking a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to join our VPWH campus in our Multi-Intensive Autism Center.
The Board Certified Behavior Analyst will provide ABA programming to students in our multi-intensive autism center throughout the school day, and will oversee integrity of the programming and all service activities that occur for assigned students. The BCBA will participate in educational team meetings, assist in determining IEP goals, and develop Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP) as needed. The BCBA provides coaching to BTs and RBTs, and will provide RBT supervision in accordance with the BACB guidelines.
ESSENTIALFUNCTIONS
- Support the school's mission, philosophies, values, goals, and policies toward students, parents/guardians, and coworkers
- Conduct continuous assessments of student skills and needs
- Design and effectively deliver developmentally appropriate ABA programming which reflects assessments and goals of individual students
- Collect data and maintain accurate data collections systems
- Work with faculty and school leadership to frequently examine student data for ongoing refinement of assessment and programming
- Establish a classroom culture of high expectations for all students in the center
- Facilitate regular parent/guardian communications and conferences to discuss student progress
- Commit to ensuring the safety of the student, and the proper utilization of de-escalation strategies, when needed
- Collaborate with Compliance Managers on IEP development and process
- Keep the center environment organized, attractive and safe
- Provide targeted small group and individual programming to students throughout the day to help them achieve their IEP goals
- Provide a range of antecedent and consequence strategies to meet the needs of all the learners in the center
- Provide coaching and training to BTs & RBTs on the implementation of program modalities and interventions
- Provide RBT supervision in accordance to BACB guidelines
- Keep accurate and organized records of student information
- Actively engage in identity work and necessary conversations in order to dismantle white supremacy culture
- Master’s degree, required
- Psychology, Education, Special Education or related field, preferred
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)
- Experience in a school setting required
- Experience utilizing technology in an instructional environment
- Experience with ABA programming and behavior intervention plan (BIP)
- Experience coaching and supervising BTs and RBTs
- Experience with engaging in cultural humility and self-reflection
- BCBA and COBA certification in good standing, required
- Able to supervise RBTs (Completed 8 hour BACB supervision training), required
- Passionate about urban education and working in communities that have historically been underserved and under-resourced
- Experience providing targeted and individualized programming to students with autism
- Exceptional level of patience and focus to overcome challenges, and achieve results
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to details
- Committed to thoughtfully engaging in identity work necessary to take a culturally responsive approach to pedagogy and relationship-building with students and colleagues
- Ability to use and analyze data to drive programming decisions
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
