Salary Range: $103,536 - $139,236 Annually
Telework/hybrid. Candidate may work from anywhere within Washington state with reliable internet. Travel may be required.
OverviewKey member of Washington State Department of Corrections IT team. Provides action‑oriented leadership for planning, implementation, stabilization, and ongoing management of clinical applications within the EHR. Oversees applications supporting outpatient and inpatient care, ancillary services, pharmacy, laboratory, radiology, dental services, and other clinical functions.
Responsibilities- Lead the full Epic implementation lifecycle—from design and build through training, go‑live, stabilization, and continuous improvement—ensuring alignment with clinical workflows and regulatory requirements.
- Serve as primary clinical applications lead for DOC’s Epic implementation across medical, nursing, pharmacy, and behavioral health domains.
- Partner with Epic implementation vendor, internal IT, clinical leaders, and state stakeholders to develop project plans, timelines, and resource strategies for Epic modules.
- Coordinate system design, application build, testing, and validation for clinical workflows including documentation, CPOE, order sets, and eMAR.
- Manage readiness activities: workflow mapping, integration design, data conversion planning, training coordination, and environment build oversight.
- Lead mock go‑lives, command center planning, and post‑live stabilization for clinical modules.
- Provide team and operational oversight, stakeholder and clinical engagement, and compliance & public sector coordination.
- Collaborate in development of end‑user training program and coordinate pre‑ and post‑go‑live training efforts.
- Five or more years of experience with Epic support applications, including full lifecycle implementation.
- Current or former Epic certifications or proficiency in multiple modules.
- Proven experience managing cross‑functional project teams through EHR implementations.
- Strong understanding of clinical workflows, documentation practices, and interdisciplinary care models in institutional or correctional settings.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and project leadership skills.
- Bachelor’s or higher degree in Health Informatics, Public Health, IT, or related field.
- Epic certification in Orders, Radiant, and Behavioral Health modules.
- Experience working in hospitals, clinics, laboratories, or other clinical settings.
- Prior experience implementing Epic within a correctional health, public health, FQHC, or government healthcare organization.
- Familiarity with Medicaid reporting, public health data submission, and institutional security protocols.
- Project Management Professional (PMP), Lean, or other process improvement certifications.
