Specialty Pharmacy Tech Supervisor – System Clinics; Remote

Summary

The Specialty Technician Supervisor – System Clinics is a nationally certified pharmacy technician position leading specialty pharmacy services for various ambulatory clinics across the region. The role is a subject matter expert in specialty pharmacy medication access, including prescription billing, benefit investigation, prior authorization processes, financial assistance, and coordination of prescription fulfillment. The supervisor oversees daily operations across multiple clinic teams, leads workflow optimization and staff professional development through direct supervision of Specialty Pharmacy Care Coordinator technicians, and collaborates across specialty pharmacy teams to foster a strong peer network.

• Lead staff selection and development of Specialty Pharmacy Care Coordinators, sharing best practices, specialty pharmacy medication access expertise, and direction for optimizing workflow efficiencies to improve patient health outcomes.
• Provide direction, expertise, and support for Specialty Pharmacy Care Coordinators to lead exceptional patient experience, ensuring Baptist patients perceive Baptist pharmacy as a preferred choice.
• Act as a positive role model during change, supporting teams through specialty pharmacy IT enhancements, new operational workflows, accreditation activities, regulatory survey preparations, and changes to day-to-day operations.
• Manage budgetary oversight and compliance for the Pharmacy Care Coordinator team.
• Partner with the Specialty Pharmacy Manager – System Clinics to implement system specialty pharmacy strategy across various specialty clinics managing multiple specialty disease states.
• Collaborate with hospital community, specialty clinic, and central pharmacy teams across the system to ensure alignment and consistency with specialty pharmacy workflows.
• Review operational, compliance, productivity, and financial reports and partner with the Specialty Pharmacy Manager – System Clinics to share insights and recommend actions.
• Develop task analysis evaluations and review expectations with Specialty Pharmacy Care Coordinators to ensure awareness of standards to be achieved.
• Maintain deep knowledge of specialty pharmacy accreditation standards, state and federal pharmacy regulations, and deliver education to the care coordinator team.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Registration with the Kentucky Board of Pharmacy upon hire date.
• Must obtain National Pharmacy Certification within 6 months.
• Two years pharmacy technician experience plus leadership experience or 5 years pharmacy technician experience.
• Prior experience with third‑party billing and financial counseling.
• Prior experience with Epic EMR (preferred).
• Prior experience with specialty pharmacy accreditation (preferred).
