The Payor Credentialing Coordinator is responsible for managing provider credentialing and payer enrollment activities to ensure healthcare providers are properly credentialed and enrolled with insurance payers. This role supports compliance, timely reimbursement, and uninterrupted patient care through accurate record maintenance and proactive application management.
Responsibilities- Prepare and submit provider credentialing and recredentialing applications.
- Manage provider enrollment with Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance plans.
- Maintain and update CAQH, NPPES, and provider credentialing records.
- Verify provider licenses, certifications, malpractice coverage, and other required documentation.
- Track application status and resolve credentialing issues with payers.
- Collaborate with providers, billing, HR, and internal teams to support enrollment processes.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and payer‑specific requirements.
- High school diploma required;
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred. - 1–3 years of credentialing, healthcare administration, or related experience (recent experience required).
- Strong attention to detail, organizational, and data entry skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Experience with credentialing platforms such as CAQH and NPPES preferred.
- Excellent communication, customer service, and problem‑solving abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
