Position Summary
Pharmacy Care Technician (work-from-home) in Pennsylvania. Must reside within 75 miles of the CVS Specialty site at 105 Mall Blvd., Monroeville, PA 15146.
Responsibilities- Accurately read, interpret, and enter prescriptions into the computer system, including calculation of doses and assignment of directions.
- Ensure proper insurance payment in a timely fashion.
- Route incomplete or unclear prescriptions to the prescriber for clarification and enter prescription information once clarified.
- Handle inbound phone calls, answer questions, solve problems, provide education, and maintain high‑quality service.
- Perform new patient enrollment, verify insurance coverage, and process benefit investigations and medication orders.
- Identify routine assessment issues and appropriately escalates to a pharmacist.
- Work independently and maintain self‑directed performance.
- Residency within 75 miles of Monroeville, PA.
- Minimum six months of experience in a pharmacy technician role.
- Minimum six months of experience with Windows-based applications, Microsoft Office, Internet navigation, and email applications.
- Minimum six months of computer keyboarding skills and aptitude.
- Active, valid Pharmacy Technician License or Pharmacy Technician Trainee License by the State of PA.
- Direct/hardwired Internet connection with a modem/router within seven feet of the computer and a minimum download speed of 25
Mbps download and 3
Mbps upload (Wi‑Fi and satellite not permitted). - Secure and private home workspace free from distractions.
- Three months of experience handling and resolving customer needs over the phone.
- Healthcare work experience and familiarity with benefits, insurance, and prescriptions.
- Experience in medical billing, coding, or other medical assisting roles.
- Customer service experience in an office environment.
Typical pay range: $17.00 – $28.46 per hour, depending on experience, education, and geography. Full‑time, 40-hour week with potential overtime during peak periods.
